Four members of the public spoke at the Dec. 16 Denman Island Local Trust Committee meeting about a letter concerning the Apartheid Free Community campaign, according to the minutes.[1]
They asked the committee to sign the Apartheid Free Communities Pledge and support several related requests, including a call for a two-way arms embargo with Israel and recognition of anti-Palestinian racism as a distinct form of racism.[1]
A trustee noted support for anti-apartheid movements and said there was a point on the agenda at which they would respond to the request. The minutes record the correspondence being added to the agenda, but do not record the response.[1]
