Affordable housing proposals and a request for the Denman Island Local Trust Committee to support a Palestine-related campaign were among the subjects at its December 16 meeting, according to adopted minutes. ^[1]

One delegation described a proposal to rezone a 15.2-acre property for eight dwelling units, regulated by a housing agreement held with Islands Trust. ^[1]

The Denman Community Housing Society presented an Official Community Plan amendment concerning the Emcon works yard, which it said could set aside a future affordable-housing site; the yard is leased to Mainroad until 2033. ^[1]

Four members of the public asked the committee to support the Apartheid Free Communities Pledge and related requests concerning arms exports, visas, contracting policies and anti-Palestinian racism.
