Four members of the public asked the Denman Island Local Trust Committee to support the Apartheid Free Communities campaign, according to minutes of the committee’s December 16 meeting.[1]

They asked the committee to sign a pledge declaring the Denman Island Local Trust Area an apartheid-free community and to support calls concerning an arms embargo, Gaza visa-program reforms, contracting policies and recognition of anti-Palestinian racism.[1]

A trustee expressed support for anti-apartheid movements and said the committee would respond to the request during the meeting. The correspondence was added to the agenda.[1]
