Denman trustees discussed housing policy and regulation options as part of the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw review at their January 20 meeting; the staff report described the options as not yet decided.[1]

The minutes record agreement on several proposed directions, including a limit of four dwellings on Rural Residential (R2) lots and a maximum of two principal dwellings on Residential (R1) lots within 200m of the shoreline. The minutes say those options would affect five R2 properties and eleven R1 properties.[1]

Trustees also discussed removing the density cap, reducing or removing subdivision potential, and allowing secondary suites and small units on R2 properties without a minimum lot size. The minutes record discussion and agreement on options, not adoption of new rules.[1]

The public consultation period on the draft Trust Policy Statement continues until February 5, according to the chair’s report in the meeting minutes.[1]
