At a January 21 Islands Trust Financial Planning Committee meeting, a delegate raised concerns about budget and staffing increases, while a letter asked the committee to consider reducing funding for bylaw enforcement and legal opinions.[1]

The delegate, speaking for Friends of the Gulf Islands Society, opposed continued increases in staff positions and the budget without demonstrably clear increases in protection of the Trust Area. The delegate supported full costing of projects, a full-time biologist position and a review of the water sustainability project.[1]

The committee reviewed the letter from Brian Milne and voted to return it to the correspondent.[1]
