Denman Island Local Trust Committee members discussed possible housing policy and regulation changes during their January 20 meeting, including density, subdivision and secondary dwelling units. The minutes describe the options as undecided.[1]
The minutes record agreement among trustees on options to limit Rural Residential lots to four dwellings and to limit principal dwellings on some Residential lots within 200 metres of the shoreline. The recorded discussion says those options would affect five and eleven properties, respectively.[1]
Trustees also discussed removing subdivision potential and allowing subdivision through site-specific rezoning applications, as well as permitting secondary suites and small units on Rural Residential lots without a minimum property size. These were discussion points, not a final decision on the housing review.[1]
