The Denman Island Free Store is seeking volunteers as bags and boxes of donations arrive each week, according to a notice in this week’s Grapevine. The store operates in the Old School basement on Thursdays and Saturdays.[1]
The notice says volunteers sort clothes, unpack books, display items and clean up. It also asks donors to wash and fold clothing, avoid donating damaged material and not leave items outside when the store is closed.[1]
The store’s writer says it has been open for over 30 years and that some donations go to the garbage or charities in town. People can come in during open hours to volunteer and receive training.[1]
