A public hearing on proposed Denman Island bylaws concerning the Triple Rock Land Cooperative is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on February 17, following a community information meeting at 10 a.m., according to a notice in this week’s Grapevine.^[1]

The notice says proposed Bylaw 255 would amend the Official Community Plan to withdraw residential units from the density bank and allow four additional residential units on the subject property. Proposed Bylaw 250 would change R4 zoning regulations, including allowing secondary suites in all residential units.^[1]

Proposed Bylaw 254 would establish a housing agreement regulating occupancy and affordability for 19 housing units, including associated secondary suites, and set monitoring and reporting requirements, the notice says.^[1]

The Denman Island Local Trust Committee’s January 20 minutes record discussion of housing policy and regulatory options that had yet to be decided by the committee. The minutes say the discussion included density-bank policies, subdivision, dwelling limits and secondary units.^[2]
