The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave third reading to proposed bylaws for the Triple Rock Land Cooperative at a special meeting on February 17. The bylaws cover an Official Community Plan amendment, land-use changes and a housing agreement.[1]

The proposed changes include four additional residential units, bringing the permitted total from fifteen to nineteen, and allowing secondary suites in all units. The housing agreement is intended to secure nineteen cooperative units as affordable housing and specify occupancy.[1]

At the community information meeting, the applicant said financing discussions had taken place but no financing was in place. The minutes also record support for the additional units and secondary suites, alongside concerns about the suites.[1]

The committee’s minutes say a significant majority of public correspondence supported the application. The committee gave third reading to proposed Bylaws 255 and 250; the available minutes excerpt does not show the recorded decision on Bylaw 254.[1]
