The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave third reading to proposed bylaws for the Triple Rock Land Cooperative at its Feb. 17 special meeting, according to adopted minutes. [1]
The proposed changes include four additional residential units, secondary suites in all units and a housing agreement to secure 19 cooperative units as affordable housing. [1]
At the meeting, the applicant said discussions about financing had taken place but no financing was in place. The minutes also record support for the application and concerns about secondary suites. [1]
The committee’s discussion included environmental impacts, rainwater use and the project’s potential to provide safe housing for people living in substandard or unsafe housing. [1]
