The Denman Island Climate Action Network’s Repair Café took place on March 15, with tents, tarps and indoor work space at the Recycling Centre helping participants stay dry, according to a report in this week’s Grapevine.[1]
The report lists nine or more chainsaws fixed, two weed whackers restored and 30 tools sharpened, along with repairs to a barbecue and other items.[1]
The event was sponsored by the network, which said it has a small budget and gives each expert a local hardware-store gift certificate and a thank-you card. The report says the group wants to expand its events on Denman but is limited by funds and volunteer capacity.[1]
