Denman fire ban takes effect Thursday at noon

A complete fire ban is scheduled to take effect Thursday, May 7, at noon, and includes Denman Island Fire Rescue among the departments involved in the ban.[1]
The notice says campfires will not be allowed on private property, provincial parks or Crown land within the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction.[1]
Cooking stoves using gas, propane or briquettes are exempt, as are approved portable campfire devices using specified fuels when their flames are less than 15 centimetres high.[1]
The notice also says smoking is banned in Comox Valley Regional District parks and fire rings will be removed from designated parks.[1]
