A World Ocean Day celebration called “Octopus Marries the Ocean” is scheduled for June 7 at Fillongley Park, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, according to an event notice in the Grapevine.[1]
The notice says the procession will begin in the upper meadow and continue down to the shore for a ceremony. It describes music, dance, spoken word and an exchange of vows, and invites people to join the procession or wait at the shore.[1]
The notice says donations will be welcome and transferred to the Association for Denman Island Marine Stewards. It also warns that parking at the park is limited.[1]
