The Denman Island Local Trust Committee discussed proposed amendments to the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw at its May 12 meeting, including changes to draft Bylaws 260 and 264.[1]
The committee asked staff to make housekeeping, grammatical and formatting amendments to the drafts. The minutes also record discussion of secondary suites, maximum dwelling floor area and subdivision rules.[1]
At an April 17 special meeting, the committee asked staff to present draft bylaws for first reading based on decisions made at that meeting. The minutes say further community engagement and input were anticipated after first reading.[2]
The May minutes record that a member of the public spoke about the affordable housing emergency and encouraged trustees to move forward with the draft amendments.[1]
