Residents raised questions about proposed changes to Denman Island’s Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw at the Local Trust Committee’s August 24 meeting. One speaker asked that second reading be delayed until after the public hearing, citing concerns about awareness of the proposals and the removal of the density bank.[1]
A planner told the meeting that members of the public could submit comments and concerns until the public hearing closed, and that changes could still be made after second reading.[1]
The minutes record another speaker saying the housing project needed to be completed and urging public support for changes intended to support affordable housing. The public hearing is scheduled for September 15, according to the July 11 meeting minutes.[2]
