BC Ferries CEO Visits Denman to Address Ferry Cable Delamination and Beach Cleanup

Mark Collins, President and CEO of BC Ferries, visited Denman Island on August 20, 2019, to discuss the delamination of the ferry cable that caused plastic pollution around Denman and Hornby Islands. He apologized for the issue, explained the cause related to a plastic additive, and brought a team of volunteers to participate in a shoreline cleanup coordinated with local groups including ADIMS.
