Call for Community Action to Oppose Herring Fishery Practices
environment · March 2021 · Beaches near Baynes Sound and Lambert Channel
Community members are encouraged to oppose current herring fishery practices that they believe threaten the local ecosystem. They are asked to light candles in their windows or on local beaches during the herring spawn as a visible statement of mourning and protest against the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the herring industry.
