The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first and second readings to proposed bylaws connected to the Triple Rock Land Cooperative application, including an Official Community Plan amendment, a land-use bylaw amendment and a housing agreement bylaw.[1]
The minutes say the application seeks 4 additional dwelling units, bringing the total to 19 dwelling units with associated secondary suites, while encouraging long-term affordability through an updated housing agreement.[1] The committee also requested a community information meeting before a public hearing and directed staff to remove schedules A and B from the draft housing agreement.[1]
The committee gave first and second readings to proposed bylaws for the Denman Conservancy application.[1] The minutes say the application would change the Official Community Plan designation for 3 parcels to Conservation Recreation, while the Agricultural designation on the parcel within the Agricultural Land Reserve would remain unchanged.[1]
The committee endorsed a draft community engagement plan for the Denman housing review and requested an electronic special meeting to review policy options before community feedback.[1] The plan’s key engagement themes include the density bank, secondary dwellings, multi-unit cluster housing, and floor area and lot coverage limits.[1]
The committee also gave written consent under Covenant CA7485176 for development proposed in application DE-SUP-2020.3.[1] The minutes describe the proposal as including a dwelling, workshop, accessory building, boathouse, septic system, garden beds, driveway and retaining walls.[1]
The meeting was called to order at 10:00 am and adjourned at 11:45 a.m.[1] The recording transcript identifies the meeting as a regular meeting of the Denman Island Local Trust Committee and says it was live streamed and recorded.[2]
