Fuel Management and Ecological Restoration Project in Helliwell Provincial Park

A multi-year fuel management and ecological restoration project is underway in Helliwell Provincial Park to reduce wildfire risk and enhance Garry oak ecosystems. Work includes selective thinning and limbing of dead and dying shore pine, pile burning of debris, invasive species management, and planting native species. Community input was sought to protect significant areas during the project.
