Historical Shipwreck of the Alpha Described

The wreck of the Alpha, an iron steamer built in 1863, lies in 10 metres of water near Denman Island. The ship sank in a storm on December 15, 1900, with the loss of nine lives. The wreck site is now home to various marine species and has been salvaged by divers.
