Elected representatives from the Islands Trust and San Juan County have signed an open letter urging Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to abandon the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion project due to the risks posed to the Salish Sea region, including increased oil tanker traffic and threats to orca populations and local economies.
