Purple Martin Nest Box Installation and Monitoring

Volunteers on Denman Island continue efforts to support the Western Purple Martin population by installing and monitoring nest boxes. On May 2, 2021, a nest box mounting party installed three new cedar nest boxes. The population has grown from 10 pairs in 1980 to about 1200 pairs in BC, with 22 nest boxes on Denman Island.
