Rescinding of Bulk Water Delivery License by Graham Lake Improvement District
infrastructure · Graham Lake Improvement District water system
The Graham Lake Improvement District (GLID) has rescinded the bulk water delivery license held by Marinus Blitterswik, who has been selling bulk water from the GLID system for eight years. The decision was made due to liability concerns by three board members. This affects many island residents who rely on this water service, including local businesses, tenants, families, seniors, and low-income individuals. A petition and letters have been sent to the board requesting reconsideration or alternative solutions. The CVRD may take over bulk water delivery in the long term, but immediate concerns remain for the upcoming summer.
