Western Purple Martin Nesting Colony Expanded at Denman Community Dock

The Western Purple Martin colony at the Denman Community Dock has grown since its establishment in 2012. Due to housing shortages observed in early May 2020, six additional nest boxes were built and installed, bringing the total to 22. The colony is part of a successful conservation effort involving local volunteers and organizations.
