Ancient Forest Blockades Active at Fairy Creek

Four well-organized blockades are operating in Pacheedaht territories at Fairy Creek to protect ancient yellow cedar forests from logging. The latest blockade, Kaxi:ks Watch Station, was launched with support from Pacheedaht hereditary elder Bill Jones and the Union of BC Indian Chiefs. BC's NDP government has approved 13 cutblocks in Special Management Zones near Carmanah-Walbran Provincial Park. The blockades are volunteer-run and seeking donations to maintain operations.
