BC Ferries announces service improvements for Denman-Hornby routes
infrastructure · 2023-06 · Route 21 and Route 22 ferry routes
BC Ferries announced planned changes affecting the Hornby–Denman and Denman–Buckley Bay routes: the Quinitsa is to operate on Route 22 in summer 2023, the Kahloke is to assist the Baynes Sound Connector on Route 21, and the Baynes Sound Connector is to be expanded to at least 70 cars in fiscal 2024 or 2025. The expansion is also expected to include electric power, with a new Island Class ferry planned for Route 22 in 2026.
This is the archive, not the newspaper. Between 2018 and 2026 this site compiled these items automatically from public community sources — chiefly The Islands Grapevine, regional news feeds and community groups. They were not written by a reporter and were not held to the standards this publication now applies. The archive is kept because it is a useful dated record of what happened on Denman, and it is labelled because pretending otherwise would be the first thing we would tell you not to trust. Current reporting is at The Denman Firestarter.
