BC Ferries to Improve Island Ferry Service by 2026
infrastructure · 2023-06-01 · Hornby-Denman ferry routes
BC Ferries agreed to several planned changes for the Hornby-Denman and Denman-Buckley Bay routes: the Quinitsa is to operate on Route 22 in summer 2023, the Kahloke is to assist Route 21 during peak season, the Baynes Sound Connector is to be expanded, and a new Island Class ferry is planned for Route 22 in 2026. The expansion is also expected to include conversion of the Baynes Sound Connector to electric power.
This is the archive, not the newspaper. Between 2018 and 2026 this site compiled these items automatically from public community sources — chiefly The Islands Grapevine, regional news feeds and community groups. They were not written by a reporter and were not held to the standards this publication now applies. The archive is kept because it is a useful dated record of what happened on Denman, and it is labelled because pretending otherwise would be the first thing we would tell you not to trust. Current reporting is at The Denman Firestarter.
