Call for Moratorium on Georgia Strait Herring Fishery

Local groups including ADIMS, Conservancy Hornby Island, Pacific Wild, and the WSANEC Tribal Leadership Council are calling for a moratorium on the commercial herring fishery in Georgia Strait due to declining herring stocks and ecological concerns. They urge Fisheries and Oceans Canada to halt the fishery and fairly compensate fishers.
