Elected representatives from the Islands Trust and San Juan County have issued an open letter urging Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau to abandon the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion project. They cite risks to the Salish Sea region, including increased tanker traffic and threats to orcas, wild salmon, and local economies dependent on tourism and a healthy environment.
