Clearcutting of Ancient Mother Trees in Upper Walbran Valley

As of early September 2025, ancient Mother Trees in the Upper Walbran Valley are being clear-cut despite concerns about biodiversity and Indigenous rights. The Tsitika Valley also faces logging threats, including cutblocks slated for 2026, which endanger old-growth forest ecosystems and species survival.
