Community Car Chargers Installed at Denman Hall

infrastructure · December 2017 · Denman Island Hall

Three electric vehicle chargers have been installed at the Denman Island Hall: one universal Level 2 charger donated by Friesen Family Construction and two Tesla chargers donated by Tesla Corporation. Installation was done by local company Kinetic Electric at no cost to the hall. The chargers operate by donation and aim to attract tourists and support local businesses.

This is the archive, not the newspaper. Between 2018 and 2026 this site compiled these items automatically from public community sources — chiefly The Islands Grapevine, regional news feeds and community groups. They were not written by a reporter and were not held to the standards this publication now applies. The archive is kept because it is a useful dated record of what happened on Denman, and it is labelled because pretending otherwise would be the first thing we would tell you not to trust. Current reporting is at The Denman Firestarter.

  • “We have installed 3 chargers, one charger for all makes and models of electric cars, and 2 Tesla chargers... The actual instillation was done by Denman’s own Kinetic Electric... They are by donation... The main goal of having them put in is to attract tourists to stop in and charge their car for a bit, and check out our local small businesses.” — The Islands Grapevine – December 21st, 2017 (December 21st, 2017)
