Cougar Sightings Reported on Denman Island

The Wildlife Advisory Committee received reports of cougar sightings including an adult chasing a deer on East Road and two kittens near Orkney Farm in December 2019. The committee investigates cougar signs but does not issue full alerts unless confirmed sightings or kills occur. Cougars are known to inhabit the area but are rarely seen and avoid humans.
