Denman Island Community Land Trust Nears Fundraising Goal for Affordable Housing
community · August 16, 2020 · Pepper Lane, downtown Denman Island
The Denman Island Community Land Trust Association (DCLTA) has been fundraising for six years to acquire a 2-acre downtown property called Pepper Lane for $100,000. They are within about $6,500 of the goal. The plan is to build eight small-scale affordable rental homes for seniors at this location. An AGM will be held on August 16 at 2:00 PM at the Market Day field.
This is the archive, not the newspaper. Between 2018 and 2026 this site compiled these items automatically from public community sources — chiefly The Islands Grapevine, regional news feeds and community groups. They were not written by a reporter and were not held to the standards this publication now applies. The archive is kept because it is a useful dated record of what happened on Denman, and it is labelled because pretending otherwise would be the first thing we would tell you not to trust. Current reporting is at The Denman Firestarter.
