Denman Seniors and Museum Society Seeks Tax Funding Through CVRD
governance · December 11, 2018 to January 17, 2019 · Denman Island Seniors and Museum Society facilities
The Denman Seniors and Museum Society (DSMS) is working to obtain tax funding through the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) to ensure long-term maintenance and improvement of their building and facilities, including the museum. A CVRD tax bylaw amendment increasing the maximum tax rate has passed three readings and received provincial approval but must undergo an Alternate Approval Process (AAP) from December 11, 2018 to January 17, 2019 before final approval by the CVRD Board.
This is the archive, not the newspaper. Between 2018 and 2026 this site compiled these items automatically from public community sources — chiefly The Islands Grapevine, regional news feeds and community groups. They were not written by a reporter and were not held to the standards this publication now applies. The archive is kept because it is a useful dated record of what happened on Denman, and it is labelled because pretending otherwise would be the first thing we would tell you not to trust. Current reporting is at The Denman Firestarter.
