Early Years Literacy Program to Start November 5

community · 2019-11-05 · Denman Community School

Denman Island Community Education Society (DICES) is launching a new Early Years Literacy Program to address the growing waitlist at Blackberry Lane Preschool. The program will run Tuesdays from 9:30 AM to noon at the Community School starting November 5, offering book reading, literacy activities, free play, and snacks for children aged 0-6 and their caregivers. Funding was provided by a donation from Union Bay Credit Union.

This is the archive, not the newspaper. Between 2018 and 2026 this site compiled these items automatically from public community sources — chiefly The Islands Grapevine, regional news feeds and community groups. They were not written by a reporter and were not held to the standards this publication now applies. The archive is kept because it is a useful dated record of what happened on Denman, and it is labelled because pretending otherwise would be the first thing we would tell you not to trust. Current reporting is at The Denman Firestarter.
