The Denman Island Farmers Market has grown from 12 vendors four years ago to 45 vendors in 2019, with an average Saturday turnout of 27 vendors. The market generated approximately $80,000 for the local economy. The Food for Families Nutritious Coupon Program was introduced, providing $21 per week in coupons to 41 participants to purchase vegetables, greens, eggs, and meats at the market, bringing $6,282 of new money into the market.
