Albini Lapierre, a nearly 20-year veteran of Hornby Island Fire Rescue, is battling cancer and has a GoFundMe campaign to help with travel and treatment expenses. He has surgery scheduled for the end of August 2025 and has had to reduce income to attend frequent appointments.
