The Hornby Island Fall Fair was held with a 'Medieval Harvest' theme featuring authentic Medieval music, costumed participants, and demonstrations by the Shire of Hartwood SCA. The event attracted an estimated 1,200 attendees, exceeding the year-round population. Various contests were held including a giant pumpkin contest and a Medieval pottery challenge.
This is the archive, not the newspaper. Between 2018 and 2026 this site compiled these items automatically from public community sources — chiefly The Islands Grapevine, regional news feeds and community groups. They were not written by a reporter and were not held to the standards this publication now applies. The archive is kept because it is a useful dated record of what happened on Denman, and it is labelled because pretending otherwise would be the first thing we would tell you not to trust. Current reporting is at The Denman Firestarter.

- “HORNBY ISLAND FALL FAIR By Reina LeBaron, HIRRA... This year's theme was "Medieval Harvest" which led to the group of musicians playing authentic Medieval music, all the costumed people, and having the Shire of Hartwood SCA folks attend the Fair to demonstrate some Medieval skills... one guesstimate was that about 1,200 people came through (more than our year-round population!).” — The Islands Grapevine – September 12th, 2019 (September 12th, 2019)
