The B.C. Ministry of Environment confirmed ongoing pollution violations at Deep Water Recovery Ltd.'s shipbreaking facility in Union Bay, issuing fines and enforcement orders due to toxic metal contamination (copper, lead, zinc) leaking into Union Bay waters. The Environmental Appeal Board denied Deep Water's application for a stay of compliance.
