River dam proposal was abandoned

A personal account described a past fish kill in a river, which the writer said had been deliberately carried out to remove fish considered unsuitable for sport fishing. The account also described a proposed dam that would have flooded the canyon and nearby rental property, but said the plan was later abandoned as dam removals elsewhere prompted a change in approach.
