Southern Gulf Islands Residents and Business Coalition Criticizes Islands Trust Policies

The Southern Gulf Islands Residents and Business Coalition (SGIRABC) has distributed flyers critical of the Islands Trust's proposed policy changes related to forests, shorelines, sea walls, and docks. They oppose First Nations reconciliation efforts by the Trust and claim overreach in environmental regulations. The Islands Trust has completed phase 3 of public consultation and continues to review proposals. SGIRABC's leadership includes individuals from Salt Spring, Vancouver, and Saturna Island.
