Taylor’s Checkerspot Butterfly Larvae Released in Helliwell Provincial Park

Nearly 1,300 Taylor’s checkerspot butterfly caterpillars reared at the Greater Vancouver Zoo were released in Helliwell Provincial Park in March 2021 as part of a recovery project to re-establish this critically endangered species. The project involves habitat restoration and collaboration with local First Nations and conservation groups.
