The Potager Heritage Apple Farm Selling Apples and Trees

business · Denman Island Saturday Market

The Potager, a heritage apple farm on Denman Island with 125 apple varieties mostly from before the 1950s, sells apples and apple trees at the Saturday Market during late summer and early fall to preserve heritage varieties.

This is the archive, not the newspaper. Between 2018 and 2026 this site compiled these items automatically from public community sources — chiefly The Islands Grapevine, regional news feeds and community groups. They were not written by a reporter and were not held to the standards this publication now applies. The archive is kept because it is a useful dated record of what happened on Denman, and it is labelled because pretending otherwise would be the first thing we would tell you not to trust. Current reporting is at The Denman Firestarter.

  • “The Potager is a heritage apple farm... Throughout the late summer and early fall Kate will be selling apples from these trees, in addition to the trees themselves... Kate sells these trees and fruit because she’s passionate about sharing Denman’s history of apples with others, and she wants to preserve these heritage varieties.” — The Islands Grapevine – July 25th, 2019 (July 25th, 2019)
