The Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club (VCBC) is facing civil forfeiture of its property at 1625 Quadra Street by the Province of B.C. due to operating without a license. The B.C. Solicitor General has also filed a certificate of judgment against a board member's home to collect $3.2 million in fines. VCBC founder Ted Smith plans to speak at the Victoria City Council meeting on May 14, 2026, seeking protection from the province.
